Butterfly Break Through

The butterfly in this world is a symbol of beauty and freedom. I’ve yet to hear someone refer to a butterfly in a negative manner. Butterflies are delicate and fascinating in their colors and shapes. 

Our eye is trained by our brain to see things that are not there. This butterfly is a reflection of what you see compared to what there is. 

I’ve made this piece in acceptance of our flaws as humans, and applying those into something so pretty like a butterfly. Our eyes are drawn to the colors and the shapes on the butterfly, and completely ignore the flaws in its creation; the asymmetry and the lack of perfection. Unlike how we look at ourselves, the butterfly is looked at with much more sought after yearning to find perfection and beauty.
